Strategy

Strategy

The development of a research plan that supports the direction and work of child welfare must be aligned with the agency’s overall strategic plan. It should also contribute to the body of knowledge in the field to improve practice and secure positive outcomes for children, youth and families. Agency leaders are responsible for being informed about information, research and knowledge being produced in the public child welfare field and within and across other systems that work with children, youth and families. The basic strategies necessary for an agency to promote research efforts effectively include the following components:

Research Plan

Leadership Vision for Agency's ResearchAgenda

Setting a Research Priority

Engaging Agency Staff

Methodology

Policies/Procedures

Dissemination of Results

Monitoring/Evaluation
